Total Widths And Slopes From Complex Regge Trajectories
Maximally complex Regge trajectories are introduced for which both Re α(s) and Im α(s) grow as s1−ǫ (ǫ small and positive). Our expression reduces to the standard real linear form as the imaginary part (proportional to ǫ) goes to zero. A scaling formula for the total widths emerges: ΓTOT/M → constant for large M, in very good agreement with data for mesons and baryons. The unitarity corrections...
متن کاملHadronic Masses and Regge Trajectories
A comprehensive phenomenological analysis of experimental data and some theoretical models is presented here (for mesons) to critically discuss how Regge trajectory parameters depend on flavor. Through analytic continuation of physical trajectories (obtained from resonance data) into the space like region, we derive the suppression factor for heavy flavor production. The case of our D Regge exc...
متن کاملTowards understanding Regge trajectories in holographic QCD
We reassess a work done by Migdal on the spectrum of low-energy vector mesons in QCD in the light of the AdS-QCD correspondence. Recently, a tantalizing parallelism was suggested between Migdal’s work and a family of holographic duals of QCD. Despite the intriguing similarities, both approaches face a major drawback: the spectrum is in conflict with well-tested Regge scaling. However, while hol...
متن کاملString Models of Glueball and Regge Trajectories
The closed relativistic string carrying two point-like masses is considered as the model of a glueball with two constituent gluons. Here the gluon-gluon interaction is simulated by a pair of strings. For this system exact solutions of classical equations of motions are obtained. They describe rotational states of the string resulting in the set of quasilinear Regge trajectories with different b...
متن کاملEffective Functional Form of Regge Trajectories
We present theoretical arguments and strong phenomenological evidence that hadronic Regge trajectories are essentially nonlinear and can be well approximated, for phenomenological purposes, by a specific square-root form.
